Memorial Day weekend in pictures…

Although it’s a little late to be talking about Memorial Day weekend, I have some good photos that I think are worth sharing… Just a little recap of the weekend for all to see and remember.
We started off the weekend by watching Brodie and Kate’s soccer games. Coincidentally, they both played in the soccer tournament: Best of the Midwest, in Lowell, IN. Brodie’s game was first… I got this photo of him playing…
Right after we watched Brodie’s game, we headed over to watch Kate play. Below is a little action shot of Kate when she was right in front of us on the sideline. Kate and Brodie both played really well and it was so great to watch them play!
After the soccer games, Justin and I headed to St. Joe’s, Michigan to visit the St. Joe lighthouse and hang out on the beach for the evening. It was a two hour drive from the soccer fields to the lighthouse. Luckily, there was an outlet mall on the way, so we stopped there for about an hour and did a little shopping πŸ™‚
Before we made it to our shopping destination, we got stopped in this line of traffic… There was a classic car parade for Memorial Day…
After a little shopping and driving, we made it to St. Joe. Here are some of my favorite photos from our time at the lighthouse.

Walking up to the lighthouse…

A view of the beach…

A view as we were standing on the pier. Unlike the time we visited in December, there was no ice on the railings and all over the place!

So peaceful…

How much fun does that look?!
A few black and whites…
(This one is of the main section of the lighthouse.)
Fun picture looking up at the lighthouse…
Justin taking a stroll on the beach…
Like this one… πŸ™‚

After enjoying the evening on the beach, we headed to downtown St. Joe (about 5 minutes from the beach) and had a delicious dinner at a restaurant with outside dining. Apparently it was a St. Joe favorite because we had about a half hour wait. While we were waiting, we walked around downtown St. Joe. Downtown St. Joe had a really cute brick paved road with all of these dogs along the sidewalk. It was a lot of fun to see and take pictures of πŸ™‚
We had a great time at dinner. Good conversation and unwinding after a long day… I think this photo of me at dinner shows how tired I was (and Justin, too!) after such a long day.
Here’s a picture of our view of Lake Michigan from our table.
We were done in perfect timing to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan.
On Sunday, we got up and went to church, then came back and set by the pool all day. It was so so so relaxing and so-very-much needed! We had a little photoshoot on Sunday as well πŸ™‚
This one is of Digby! Digby has been at Justin’s parents’ home since Christmas since Justin is traveling so much. I miss him being around so much, but I know he’s in good hands πŸ™‚ He swims just about everyday. Same routine… throw the ball in the pool and Digby jumps in to get it.
Pictures of Corey and Brittney…
(We had a fun weekend hanging out with them!)
Sabrina and Peyton…
(Peyton didn’t want to take a picture… glad he agreed to because I think this is cute!)
The cake Brittney made for Memorial Day! It was really cute… and delicious!
In the evening, we watched the Coca Cola 600. A bunch of people came over and we had a great time visiting and watching the race…
The guys went golfing on Monday, so Sabrina, Brittney, and I stayed back and laid by the pool and got ready for the party that afternoon. Sabrina did a lot of cooking that afternoon to get things ready for when the boys came back.
It was a little rainy, so Justin suited up πŸ™‚

Digby anxiously waited by the door when all of the guys left. I think he missed Justin… Sometimes I wonder if Digby thinks he’s staying there forever. I hope he doesn’t think that!!
Here’s one of Justin on the tee box…
The guys made a little pit-stop right behind the house and we brought them cold drinks and snacks. Naturally, I brought the camera to get some pics πŸ™‚
On the way back to Indy on Monday night, we stopped on the side of the road and took a picture of this beautiful sunset. I think this photo wraps up a wonderful weekend so well!
